A washing machine is a
mass production machine which produces clean laundry (the output) from dirty laundry (the input). What would it produce now if you changed the input ?
By upholstering the drum with paper and filling it with uncapped marker pens, the washing machine's usual program produces patterns.
This experience uses indeed the same machine and program to produce something different from its initial purpose : here, large quantities of randomn-paterned wallpapers. Just like an industrial process, it can be parameterizable, thanks to the internal program of the washing machine AND the features of paper and
marker pens.
Circumference and
depth of the drum define
the format of each sow.
